Urban Density

Given my recent visit to NYC, I'm going to be posting tons of photos I took during my trip. For each set though, I try and come up with a theme that allows me to place a few together. This one is urban density.

New York City Lights

While in NYC again over Thanksgiving, I got to check out the rooftop of the Nolitan hotel. Seeing the city light up at night is unreal.

Fulton Market, Chicago

Fulton Market is an area in the West Loop of Chicago (west of the main downtown area). The area used to be full of warehouses that have now been converted into office buildings, shops and apartments. There are still functioning warehouses around the Fulton Market area specifically. It's a great place to walk around and explore.

Dog Days

Meet Winnie, the photo-shy black lab.

The Mission and Noe Valley in San Francisco

For some reason, I've been spending a short amount of time in cities that past few weeks. Before NYC, I was in SF for a day. Even though the time was short, I walked (and climbing hills) as much as I could. In true SF fashion, the more I explored, the more the fog kept rolling in.

A Walk Through NYC

As part of my short trip to NYC, I made a point to walk around, explore, and take photos along the way.

The Oculus

The Oculus is located inside the new World Trade Center transportation hub. It's a structure that looks like it's out of the future.

New York City from Above

While in NYC, I got the chance to visit the new Freedom Tower in Lower Manhattan. Seeing NYC from above didn't disappoint.

A Day in Williamsburg

I spent one full day in Brooklyn a few weeks ago waiting for a flight out of LGA. Staying at the Wythe Hotel was fantastic, especially the views of the city from the rooftop at night.

The Rookery Building

The Rookery Building is Chicago's oldest high-rise, built in 1886, and has a gorgeous Frank Lloyd Wright designed lobby. During the Open Chicago architecture festival, I got a chance to visit it for the first time.
